Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the SPCA Suncoast. We are grateful for the support we receive from our volunteers in sharing their care and love to our shelter animals. There are many steps in running the shelter and we rely on the talent of people in our community. Please review the information below prior to applying.
Requirements for volunteering at SPCA Suncoast:
Potential volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
Must have access to email and phone.
Must be adaptable to work well with others since volunteers interact with employees, the public, and other volunteers.
Agree to a background check.
Work a minimum of two-hour shifts.
At this time we are unable to offer court-ordered community service hours.

Steps in becoming a SPCA Suncoast volunteer:

You may receive an email about volunteering and an invitation to attend an orientation.
Attend a volunteer orientation. The potential volunteer will be invited to attend an orientation to learn about the SPCA Suncoast, expectations, review the SPCA operating manual, tour the facility and when possible, meet our team members.
Additional training - You will be trained on how to log your volunteer hours and there may be additional training for the position you will be volunteering for.
Due to the volume of volunteer applications, we may not be able to respond to all requests. If you do not hear back from us within two months, please consider volunteering at another animal organization.
Monday and Tuesday - Closed
Wednesday - 12 pm to 6 pm
Thursday and Friday - 12 pm to 4 pm
Saturday and Sunday - 12 pm to 6 pm
